Paes considers himself and Bopanna as best possible pair to aim for an Olympic medal

VETERAN TENNIS PLAYER LEADNER PAES has stated in a interview that he and Rohan Bopanna are the best pair to team up for the Olympics.

After the latest ATP rankings were released all eyes were on Bopanna as he gained direct entry into the main event which will be held in Rio. He was also in a position to choose who his doubles partner would be for the landmark competition.

Paes is looking to set a record of making seventh appearance in the Olympics. Amidst rumours that the bronze medal winner from the 1996 Atlanta Olympics was not Bopanna's first choice as doubles partner, Paes has broken the ice and comes out in the open, stating to the media,

"We are playing at a very high level. My career speaks for itself and Rohan has also been doing well in last 18 months. We both are ready and without a shadow of doubt, me and Rohan are the best team."

Paes also added that he and Bopnna can't play ATP tournaments together because of their rankings but still believes they can be the best choice as both are at the highest peak. Talking to Indian Express he said,

"We have had a conversation couple of times to play together but it also depends on our rankings. So if that opportunity arises, I think it will be a wonderful thing to do. But we are both at the peak of our performance and are ready. Without a shadow of a doubt, we are the best team to try and commit a medal at the Olympics."

This whole chaos will only settle when Bopanna finally says it out who will he partner at the Olympics. After Paes stating out these strong statements, it looks like he's left no choice for Bopanna to pick him as the partner. Well at present he at his best, so Bopanna himself wouldn't disagree on that.
