Hope the boundaries in IPL are bigger next year: Harbhajan Singh

T20 CRICKET is best enjoyed by the fans when the batsmen are seen dominating the bowlers.  And, the success of the ongoing IPL largely depends on raining fours and sixes throughout the season. Furthermore, the bigger bats, shorter boundaries and several other fielding restrictions make it extremely difficult for the bowlers to get on top of the batsmen.

In this IPL, we have already seen some sky-scraping overs backed by enormous totals it has been rather sad to see the bowlers take a pasting relentlessly.

And today, MI premier spinner Harbhajan Singh has voiced his opinion on how certain change in the proceedings can change the situation.

As reported by ians, the turbanator said,

"Being a bowler, I feel for them as the game is in favour of batsmen these days. The boundaries are getting smaller as a result of which bowlers are being hit all around the park. Fast bowlers still have the option of the bouncer but spinners suffer the wrath. This IPL season the wickets have been really good to bat on, that is also a reason why we are having high scoring encounters very often.”

The 35-year-old further added,

"To counter the flow of runs, we (bowlers) can request the concerned people governing the IPL to make the boundaries a little bigger next year. In Australia, the boundaries are generally between 75 to 80 metres which in comparison to India is much bigger."
