Winning rest of the matches also doesn’t ensure us a play-offs spot, says RPS coach Fleming

RISING PUNE SUPERGIANTS coach Stephen Fleming has admitted that he is aware of the fact that even winning all of the four remaining matches won’t ensure his side a spot in the playoffs of IPL-9.

Having won just three in ten games, the Sanjiv-Goenka owned franchise is struggling at the seventh position on the points table.

As reported by TOI, the Kiwi stalwart said that in spite of knowing the fact, his men will try their level best to win the rest of the matches.

“We have to keep believing that if we are able to win all the matches on the go, we can still give ourselves a chance of getting through in this tournament. There’s a possibility that that might not be enough, of course, but we must keep believing it is because the whole dynamic of the tournament can change at any point.”

The former Kiwi skipper also revealed the team’s plans ahead of their match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

“We’re up against Hyderabad next, and for obvious reasons, will focus on getting David Warner out quickly, as we did in our last game against them. Having said that, Hyderabad are one of the best bowling sides in the competition, and one reason they are on top of the table is their ability to bowl teams out, so getting Warner out cheaply is only part of the battle.”
