It was black Friday in WWE as the promotion released eight superstars.
WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstars King Barrett, Damien Sandow, Santino Marella, Cameron, Hornswoggle, Alex Riley, El Torito and Zeb Colter as of today, Friday, May 6, 2016. WWE wishes them the best in all of their future endeavors.
WWE announced on their official website. The announcement of the releases was dramatic in nature as the company announced the names one by one. Wade Barrett, meanwhile, took to his social media account to announce that he came to a good deal with WWE before leaving and also said that he is taking a break from the wrestling business.

Summer Rae was the subject of a wild rumor that suggested her release but it was later confirmed that she was still in the payroll.
El Torito, Santino Marella, and Hornswoggle also reacted to their releases through Twitter.
Every begining has an end. Thanks WWE and fans. My career continuous.

There was, however, no movement in the case of Ryback who recently got on the bad side of WWE for openly criticizing their pay system.
