OSCAR BRUZON is back in India after he had left Mumbai City FC in the middle of their ISL campaign last year. He was recently seen at the FPAI awards function, from where he left for Goa, the place he spent two seasons at as head coach of I-League club Sporting Clube de Goa.  That's where he was attending some "important meetings" this afternoon when TFG got through to him on his cellphone. Asked if any of the clubs there have approached him, he said,

"I'm in Goa now for my own work, I'm just waiting for the end of the month to take up any final decision."

At present, Salgaocar FC are without a coach and they have appointed their assistant coach as the interim coach. When asked if he would take over at Salgaocar as their new head coach, Oscar said,

"Not during the Federation Cup, no chance for that. Any project after that I will see and work for one season. I cannot disclose any names of the clubs to you. Only one thing I can say is that there are couple of things happening at the moment and I'm working towards to it."

Although Bruzon didn't want to discuss the circumstances which led to him quitting his position of Assistant Coach at Mumbai City last year, the Spaniard who had playing experience as a striker in the Segunda Division was quick to answer which competition was more to his liking,

"Actually I'm more interested and keen on working in I-League. They are doing good and serious work for the development of the sport and I am the guy of development. I think because of the grass-root programmes the I-League clubs today hold an advantage over the ISL teams."

He further added,

"In ISL, the negative point is I can only be an assistant coach and not a head coach. So for me the work that I do is more reasonable in the I-League. Overall, the I-League looks more interesting to me."

Eager to keep his cards close to his chest, Bruzon refused to go into details about his plans, choosing instead to sign off with a bit of a teaser for the Indian football fans,

"After the Federation Cup there will be a clearer picture as to what it's in store."
