Myneni books his place in the semis of ATP Anning Challenger

WORLD NO. 150 Saketh Myneni is through to the semis of the ATP Anning Challenger after beating the Arthur De Greef of Belgium 6-1, 6-3 in the quarterfinals today.

The Indian managed to serve at a high percentage on the first serve, but also held onto his serve when threatened. Myneni broke his opponent twice to nail the opener in comfortable fashion.

In the second set too, a similar trend continued. The no.3 seed broke De Greef twice to eventually nail the match in an hour and five minutes.

Myneni will now play Mathias Bourgue of France tomorrow in the semis. If the Hyderabadi resident manages to win the tournament, he will crack the top-120 in men’s singles ranking for the first time in his career.
