INDIA’S NO.2 SINGLES PLAYER Saketh Myneni is through to the quarterfinals of the ATP Anning Challenger after beating Nicolas Barrientos 6-3, 7-6(4) in round two today.
The no.3 seed has two opportunities to break his opponent in the first set but managed to get one to nail the set. In the second set, both men served with a lot more assurance and didn’t face a single break point.
In the end, Myneni sealed the second set and the match in a tie-breaker. The Indian had fired 14 aces for the match and also won 73 points in comparison to Barrientos’ 55.
Myneni will now play Arthur De Greef of Belgium in the quarters on Friday.
