Want to finish games for Kolkata Knight Riders, says Suryakumar Yadav
KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS batsman Suryakumar Yadav blasted a 49 ball 60 to guide his team to their third consecutive victory by beating Rising Pune Supergiants in a hard-fought match at the Maharastra Cricket Association’s International stadium, Pune.
The Mumbai cricketer batted at number three as a replacement for Manish Pandey, who continues to be down with chicken pox.
As reported by cricbuzz, Suryakumar said,
"Captain had told me that I would be batting at No 3 as Manish Pandey was not fit. It was a good opportunity for me. I had been preparing for this for the last two days, working specifically on how I would build my innings.”
The 25-year-old was quick to acknowledge that he had learnt quite a few tricks from teammate Yusuf Pathan in the past three years. Although he was delighted with his maiden IPL half-century, he regretted not having finished the game.
“I was sad that I didn't finish the game today, but am happy that my runs came for a winning cause.”
