Brothers In Arms: Pandya siblings living their dream by playing together for MI

WHEN KRUNAL PANDYA made his debut for the Mumbai Indians against the Gujarat Lions last week at the Wankhede Stadium, both Krunal and his younger sibling Hardik created history by becoming the first set of brothers to play for the same IPL team.

Krunal also made a resounding statement in the match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad by scoring a breezy 49. Unfortunately, his cameo wasn't enough to get the defending champions home.

But, be that as it may, both brothers are extremely delighted to be representing the same franchise in the IPL.

As reported by TNN, Hardik said,

"It was a special moment when Krunal joined me in the Mumbai squad. We always dreamt of playing together."

However, things weren't very easy for the Pandyas as they had to struggle financially in the beginning.

"We used to come to the ground in car as it was difficult to carry two cricket kits on one two-wheeler. So many thought that we have enough money. But only we knew how we filled petrol worth just Rs 100 and brought extra fuel in a bottle to keep the car running," Krunal recalled.

The Pandyas now play a pivotal role in maintaining the balance of the MI side as both of them are all-rounders. And, hopefully, like the Pathan brothers, Hardik and Krunal too can make their parents proud.
