Ronda Rousey In the plans for historic New York event of UFC

Ronda could headline the New York event

UFC is all set to make history on November 12th, 2016 as they will hold the first major event in New York after the legalization of MMA in the city.

The day which also marks the 23rd anniversary of UFC’s first event is all set to boast some mouthwatering matches. According to the latest turn of events, Ronda Rousey is featured prominently in the plans for the fight card. Ronda, who has not stepped into the octagon after her loss to Holly Holm, could be the main draw for the event in New York according to Dana White.

“Ronda definitely is part of the discussion. She will fight whoever has that belt when she comes back,” White told recently.

The reigning champion, Miesha Tate, who capture the title from Holly Holm, will probably fight twice before the New York event with her first fight coming up against Amanda Nunes at UFC 200.

“What’s cool right now in that 135-pound division is everyone is fighting right now. The only one that isn’t fighting right now is Holly. Miesha could, depending on how – well, she’s fighting Amanda Nunes, who is very tough. So if anything crazy happens, if she came out of that fight with a quick win and 100 percent healthy, she could turn around and fight again then fight Ronda,” White said.

Meanwhile, Frankie Edgar is planning to have a fight with Conor McGregor at the event as well. Conor will face Nate Diaz at UFC 200 and no future plans have been revealed as for now. Currently, Conor is fighting in the Welterweight division but at the same time, he holds the championship in the Featherweight division.

Edgar wants McGregor, again

Edgar will have a shot at the interim championship at UFC 200 against Jose Aldo, and if he manages to win the championship and provided that Conor comes back to the Featherweight division, the match between these two is indeed possible for the New York Event.
