Bangalore to host IPL finals, Kolkata a potential venue for a play-off and eliminator

AFTER THE BOMBAY HIGH COURT asked the BCCI to move the IPL matches out of Maharashtra from 30th April, the whole logistics, permutations and combinations have gone for a toss. Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants have obviously been receiving the brunt of it.

Barring its league matches, Pune also lost the right to hosts the two IPL play-offs while Mumbai lost out on the finals.
After all the pressure, the BCCI has now picked Bangalore as the venue to host the IPL final on the 29th of May. The first play-off too will be played at the Chinnaswamy stadium.

On the other hand, the other play-off and eliminator might well be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
As reported by TOI, IPL chief Rajiv Shukla said,

"We will propose before the Governing Council that Final and Qualifier 1 be shifted to Bengaluru, while Qualifier 2 and Eliminator to Kolkata. After speaking to the franchises, we have given them four options: Raipur, Jaipur, Kanpur and Visakhapatnam. Mumbai Indians have asked for time till day after tomorrow (to give their preference).”

Shukla further added,

"Pune has given Visakhapatnam as its preference. We will put the proposal of Pune team before the Governing Council."
