Saina Nehwal enters semi-finals of Malaysia SSP, PV Sindhu exits

SAINA NEHWAL CONTINUES HER WINNING RUN after she sealed a place in the semi-finals of Malaysia Open Super Series Premier. The third seed Indian defeated Thai shuttler Porntip Buranaprasertsuk in a close three games encounter, 19-21, 21-14, 21-14.

Losing the first game, Saina regained her confidence and got back to win the following two games and eventually went onto win the match. Her semi-final opponent is Tai Tzu Ying of Taipei and the latter leads the head-to-head count by 7-5.

Meanwhile, PV Sindhu had a bad day at the office as she was seen struggling throughout the match. She lost to the fourth seed Ratchanok Intanon from Thailand in straight games 21-7, 21-8. Intanon was dominant and didn't allow Sindhu to get back in the match.

The Indian committed too many unforced errors which cost her the match. Towards the end of the second game though, Sindhu started coming up with a few good shots but it was too late for the Indian to progress ahead.
