Sindhu regains top 10th spot, Saina & Srikanth fall to No. 8 & 14

PV SINDHU, the 20-year-old women's singles shuttler has regained her 10th position as per the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) World rankings released today. At the India Open Super Series held last week, Sindhu reached the quarter-finals which helped her climb up the rankings ladder. Currently, she is participating in the Malaysia Super Series Premier where she will play her quarter-final match on Friday.

On the other hand, Saina Nehwal who failed to defend her India SS title slipped to No. 8. She too will be seen playing her quarter-final match at the same event as Sindhu.

Men's singles shuttler, Kidambi Srikanth had an unimaginable fall to No. 14 from the 10th spot. Since winning the Syed Modi title, his performance has lacked consistency and has been failing to go beyond the first two rounds. He suffered a first round exit at the India SS and in the ongoing Malaysia SSP. Therefore, it is likely that his ranking will take a further dip.

HS Prannoy who clinched the Swiss Open too suffered first round defeat at the India SS. His current ranking has dropped from No. 19 to 22.

Meanwhile, Ajay Jayaram's ranking remained at No. 24. Marred with a series of injuries, Parupalli Kashyap's rankings has sunk to No. 18.

In the men's doubles and women's doubles, Manu Attri/B Sumeeth Reddy and Jwala Gutta/Ashwini Ponnappa remained at No. 19 and No. 15 respectively.
