Saina & Sindhu storms into the QF of Malaysia Open SSP

THIRD SEED SAINA NEHWAL had an easy road to the quarter-finals of the Malaysia Super Series Premier after the Indian beat Bae Yeon Ju of Korea in straight games, 21-10, 21-16 in round two today.

Saina kicked off the match by winning a series of points as her opponent kept committing a few unforced errors. Capitalising on the early advantage, Saina kept stretching the lead and nailed the first game without much trouble.

Into the second game the Korean looked more calm and composed, displaying good technique. However, the 26-year-old Indian was strong in all the departments and wasn't to be denied a straight game victory.

In the quarters, Saina will play Thai shuttler Porntip Buranaprasertsuk.

Earlier, PV Sindhu defeated seventh seed, Sung Ji Hyun of Korea 22-20, 21-17 to set up a clash against fourth seed Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand.
