"I don't need extra motivation to perform against big clubs," says birthday boy Penn Orji

BIRTHDAY BOY PENN ORJI said that playing against big clubs like Mohun Bagan was a delight and he did not need any added motivation to give his best on such occasions.

The Shillong Lajong medio who turned 25 today said about tomorrow's game,

"I don't need extra motivation to play against these big teams... I love the challenge, it's what makes the season interesting."

He said during the pre-match press conference that in the end his job was to look out for the team,

"Most of all, it's going to be for the team. At this stage, every point counts. And after this match, we have only one home game left. So we need to make the most of this opportunity."

He said playing against strong teams brought the best out of the youngsters that Shillong Lajong have,

"Playing against Mohun Bagan is a delight. Playing against top clubs in the league, every good player wants to play. That's where you get to display your talent. And it's great for the youngsters that we have. Even in the last match some of our young kids did good. So we just need to carry forward the momentum from the last game."

Speaking to TFG later, he said his team would not make the mistake of focusing on one or two players when playing against a team as diverse as Mohun Bagan,

"We can't focus on one player. Bagan are a very strong team and if you focus on, say Cornell Glen, then Katsumi can hurt us, or Jeje can. So we need to keep the whole team in mind and prepare as such."
