Myneni beats former World no.44 Lukas Lacko in R1 of Shenzhen ATP Challenger

INDIA’S NO.2 singles player Saketh Myneni has beaten the former World no.44 Lukas Lacko 7-5, 6-3 in the opening round of the Shenzhen ATP Challenger today. 

In the first set, both men served successfully and won a high percentage of points on their first serve. However, at the closing stages of the set, Myneni broke the Slovakian to nail the set. 

In the second set too, the Indian started serving well and kept exerting pressure on his opponent. All Myneni needed for another break of serve, which he obtained to eventually nail the match in just over an hour. 

Myneni will now face Go Soeda of Japan in the second round.
