It was a good day for the Indian shuttlers, enter RD 2 of the New Zealand GPG

INDIAN SHUTTLERS in the men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles category enter round two of the New Zealand Open Grand Prix Gold.

Sixth seeded men's pair of Manu Attri and Buss Sumeeth Reddy beat Shang Kai Lin/Lu Ching Yao of Taipei to set up a clash against Ronel Estanislao /Paul Jefferson Vivas of Philippines. The match went on for three games 21-11, 17-21, 21-16. The Taipei pair brought out the best of Attri/Reddy.

Akshay Dewalk/Pranaav Jerry Chopra defeated local pair of Joshua Curry/Maoni Hu He in straight games 21-11, 21-7. The Indian duo next face seventh seeded Cheng Hung Ling/Chi-Lin Wang of Taipei.

In the mixed doubles category, Sikki Reddy/Pranaav Jerry Chopra saw off Jonathan Sun/Jennifer Tam 21-8, 21-9. They next play Japanese pair Takuto Inoue/Naru Shinoya.

The other pair in this category, Manu Atrri and Ashwini Ponnappa ousted Robin Middleton/Leanne Choo of Australia 21-13, 10-21, 21-12. Their second round opponents will be second seeded Shin Baek Cheol/Chae Yoo Jung of Korea.

In the women's doubles category, fourth seeded pair Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa got a bye in the first round and their second round opponents are yet to be decided.
