Anthony Pettis: This one is an MMA fan’s dream! Two of the most high-profile strikers in the 155 lbs category, both have an immense following and the build to the fight and the fight itself has the potential to be a major blockbuster, given proper time.
With the loss against Diaz, the UFC would find it hard to position Conor as a legit challenger to the 155 lbs title, in his first fight in the division. However, a win against a former champion of the caliber of Pettis should win him major credibility in his attempt to become the promotion’s first reigning 2-division champion.
On the other hand, a win over a major name in Conor McGregor would help Pettis jumpstart his profile as a title-contender after being on a 2-fight losing streak himself.
