Westwood's alleged racial slur

After Bengaluru FC beat East Bengal at their own home ground in Barasat with a sensational Sunil Chhetri goal making the difference, the Red and Golds' team doctor Shambo Samrat Samajdar accused BFC coach Ashley Westwood of racially abusing him. Samajdar alleged that Westwood was constantly sledging the East Bengal reserve bench during the game, and afterwards caught up with him and made a derogatory comment about Indians. Ashley Westwood vehemently denied the claim, saying he had said no such thing. The matter was communicated to the AIFF by East Bengal, who have yet to make an official statement regarding it.
