Prannoy and Gurusaidutt ousted in first round in India GPG
FIFTH SEEDED HS Prannoy, and RMV Gurusaidutt had to bow out in the first round of the men's singles category at the Syed Modi International Badminton Championship held at the BBD Indoor Stadium in Lucknow on Wednesday.
Both the shuttlers were defeated in straight games. Huang Yuxiang (China) defeated Prannoy 21-12, 21-17, while Iskandar Zulkarnain Zainuddin (Malaysia) beat Gurusai 21-10, 21-17.
However, other Indian shuttlers such as top seed Kidambi Srikanth, 6th seed Ajay Jayaram, 4th seed Parupalli Kashyap, 15th seed B Sai Praneeth along with other unseeded shuttlers qualified to round two which will be played later in the evening.
