Kolkata Derby tickets are selling like hot cakes as fans throng the counters at the club tents

MASSIVE THRONGS of supporters are gathering at the ticket counters to buy tickets for the Kolkata Derby, both at Mohun Bagan and East Bengal tents.

The ticket sales were officially inaugurated yesterday at the Mohun Bagan tent with first team captain Shilton Paul selling the first ticket to club official and ex player Satyajit Bhattacharya.

But behind him there were a hundred supporters already, lined up to collect their ticket early on.

The tickets, priced Rs 100, 150 (lowered from 200), 300 and 1000, are being sold from both East Bengal and Mohun Bagan tents. A total of 63,000 tickets have been brought into circulation for security purposes; but the total attendance on matchday is expected to be around 80,000.

The demand for tickets is so high that tickets to certain sections of the Salt Lake Stadium were sold out within hours.

On matchday, the counter at the stadium will open at 12 noon, and sell whatever tickets are remaining till 4:30, at which time the match kicks off.
