PGTI qualifiers from January 12 to 22 at Kensville Golf Club

THE PROFESSIONAL GOLF TOUR of India (PGTI) qualifying school for 2016 will be held at the Kensville Golf & Country Club in Ahemdabad from January 12 to 22.

The first stage of the Qualifying School will comprise of two 36-hole events -- pre qualifying I and pre qualifying II. While pre qualifying I will be staged on January 12-13, pre qualifying II takes place on January 15-16, according to a PGTI release on Monday.

The top 39 players from the field of 109 at pre qualifying I will make it to the final stage. Similarly, the top 38 out of a field of 109 at pre qualifying II will make it to the final stage.

The qualifiers from the first stage will join the 43 exempt players in the final stage which is scheduled to be held from January 19-22. 

The 72-hole final stage event will feature a field of 120 players. The top 80 players will make the halfway cut after two rounds of the final stage.

At the end of the final stage, the top 35 players will earn their full cards for the 2016 PGTI season. The final stage offers a total prize purse of Rs.2.5 lakh.

On Monday, the PGTI conducted a clinic on some of the important rules of golf and golfing etiquettes for the players competing at the Qualifying School 2016.
