Former KKR and current England coach Bayliss is keen on Jos Butler joining the IPL

OVER THE YEARS, quite a few English cricketers have faced the dilemma in choosing between their national duty and the IPL. From Kevin Pietersen, Eoin Morgan to Ravi Bopara and Alex Hales all these players have been a part of the IPL before.

And now, current England wicket-keeper batsman Jos Butler finds himself in a similar position and will have to make a quick decision on his maiden IPL participation before January 15.

With Jonny Bairstow taking over the wicket-keeping duties in the Tests, Butler might not be selected for the home Tests in May. And, that presents the dynamic cricketer to make his appearance in the cash-rich tournament.

Furthermore, former KKR and current England coach Trevor Bayliss is backing Butler to join the IPL and it is learnt that the Knight Riders are keen on signing the Englishman. As reported by espncricinfo, Bayliss said,

“If the opportunity arises and Buttler is not in the Test team and that IPL window is a possibility, I'd be all for it.”
