Robin SIngh injury not serious; X-Ray report comes back clear

THE INDIAN FOOTBALL FANS worried about Robin Singh's injury last night during a SAFF Championship match against Sri Lanka can rest easy: it's not that bad.

The Bengaluru FC forward scored a brace for the Blue Tigers last night, handing India a convincing win in their first group stage match at the tournament.

But right after scoring the second goal something went wrong as Robin landed uncomfortably on his leg and went straight down in visible pain. He had to be stretched off from the ground and was taken to a hospital in the pitchside ambulance.

At the post-match presser, coach Stephen Constantine said he didn't think the striker's injury was something to worry about,

"He was carrying 91 kilos. So when he landed on one foot it was painful... we don't think it's anything serious."

And his assumption turned out to be right as late night x-ray reports came out clean; the dynamic Delhi attacker is in no immediate danger of having to sit out long-term.

Whether or not he will be available to play against Nepal tomorrow remains to be seen.
