Sandesh Jhingan and Cavin Lobo injured, set to miss out on the SAFF Championship

TWO CRUCIAL Indian players are set to miss out on the upcoming SAFF Championship due to injuries.

Sandesh Jhingan and Cavin Lobo, both of whom played for Kerala Blasters in the ISL, sustained injuries during the private tournament that has led to national team coach Stiphen Constantine dropping them from the list of SAFF Cup probables.

Both Jhingan and Lobo made their national team debut on 12th March this year, in a Pre-World Cup Qualifier playoff tie against Nepal at Guwahati. Since then they have both featured regularly for the Blue Tigers' defence and midfield.

The unavailability of these players is a further blow to the Indian team ahead of the year-ending tournament after it emerged that most of the country's major players, who have all endured a dense, taxing fixture at the ISL, will not be joining the national team's training camp at Kochi.
