Shuttlers Jayaram, Attri/Reddy enter the quarters of Mexico City GP

TOP SEED SINGLES SHUTTLER Ajay Jayaram and doubles pair Manu Attri/ B Sumeeth Reddy have reached the quarter-finals of the Mexico City Grand Prix in Distrito Federal, Mexico.

28-year-old Jayaram beat Milan Ludik of Czech Republic 21-12, 21-11 in 26 minutes, which was even shorter than his previous match. This was their first time the pair clashed on the court. The world no. 67 had no chance of getting back in the game as Jayaram sealed his fate and now in quarters he will face Artem Pochtarev of Ukraine who also meet for the first time.

After getting a bye in the first round, third seed men's doubles pair of Attri/Reddy faced Job Castillo/ Lino Munoz of Mexico for the first time ever, beating them 21-17, 21-13 in 32 minutes. The Indian pair will now face Ryan Chew (USA)/ Fran Kurniawan (Indonesia); another pair they have never faced before.
