Rohit Sharma enters the wrestling ring, co-owns UP Warriors in PWL

FORMER AND CURRENT Indian cricketers have shown great interest in venturing into franchise-based sports leagues. The likes of Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are already proud owners of their respective teams in the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL).

And now, another leading Indian cricketer in Rohit Sharma has joined the elite list by becoming the co-owner of the Uttar Pradesh Warriors for the upcoming Pro Wrestling League.

Sharma shared his delight on being a co-owner:

"India has had a long and proud history with wrestling. I am proud to come on board as one of the co-owners of the UP Warriors team at the Pro Wrestling League. Our team has the best line-up of wrestlers including India's most celebrated wrestler Sushil Kumar. We look forward to making it to the top of the league for the first season of the PWL."

The Uttar Pradesh franchise is also expecting famous Bollywood star Sonakshi Sinha to join the bandwagon of the PWL.

The PWL -- the richest wrestling tournament in the world -- is scheduled to be held from December 10-27 and is expected to have a pan-India reach.
