DREAM TEAM: Federer and Hingis to reunite for 2016 Olympics mixed doubles

THE DREAM MIXED DOUBLES pair of Roger Federer and Martina Hingis will reunite for next year’s Rio Olympic Games.

Given Hingis’ purple patch in the women’s doubles circuit this year and her wonderful relationship with Federer, tennis fans and people in the media have speculated about their possible reunion over the past few weeks.

And much to the delight of tennis fans in Switzerland and across the globe,

“Federer will play with Hingis. It's decided,” Le Matin Dimanche reported.

As reported by tennisnow.com, Federer said that he had already discussed a potential reunion with Hingis for the 2016 Olympics.

"She has approached me, and I said I’d give it some thought,” Federer said. “The problem is, I don’t know how I play singles, doubles, mixed within an eight-day period...I'll obviously give it some thought because I have a lot of respect for Martina."

Federer/Hingis last played at an exhibition event in Brisbane early this year and have also won the Hopman Cup in Australia way back in 2001.
