Untiring Warrior

Leander Paes might be 43 years old but the veteran tennis player keeps getting better with age. Paes started off the year with a bang by winning his seventh Grand Slam mixed doubles crown at the Australian Open with Martina Hingis. At the French Open, Paes became just the seventh male player in Open Era to complete 700 match wins in Doubles. The Indian continued his dream run at Wimbledon and the US Open to clinch the mixed doubles title with Hingis again. Paes is no stranger to team games in tennis, having been the MVP for Washington Kastles in World Team Tennis. Hence, adjusting to the new format and rules of the IPTL shouldn’t bother the Indian tennis icon. A great asset for the Japanese Warriors.
