Discarded Ajmal accuses Harbhajan, Ashwin; calls them 'chuckers'

OUT-OF-FAVOUR Pakistani off-spinner Saeed Ajmal has lashed out at Indian spin bowlers Harbhajan Singh and R Aswhin for 'chucking' the ball, and has blamed the International Cricket Council (ICC) for not taking any action against them.

In an interview to a Pakistani news channel, Ajmal claimed that both Harbhajan and Ashwin bowl with a bent barm and exceed the permitted 15-degree rule for bowlers. Ajmal also hit out at the ICC for not calling their action and criticized their one-sided decision against Pakistani bowlers.

"I have been watching Harbhajan Singh and other bowlers. They are still chucking. They are not being stopped (by ICC)," Ajmal said in the interview on Monday, as reported by OneIndia.

"If you look at them, they exceed the 15-degree limit," he added, referring to Harbhajan and Ashwin.

Ajmal, who has been barred from international cricket by the ICC due to his suspect action for more than a year, has remodelled his action. However, he continues to be sidelined by the selectors and is currently not part of the national team.

Ajmal admitted that he chucked the ball to an extent, but it was because of a medical condition of his right arm. He also said that if tests are conducted on Harbhajan, it will be proved that he definitely chucks.

Recently, Pakistani off-spinner Bilal Asif took a five-wicket haul against Zimbabwe in an ODI, and was immediately reported for a suspect bowling action.
