NO.3 SEEDS, Divij Sharan (IND) and Maximilian Neuchrist (AUT) have booked their places in the finals of the doubles event after edging out no. 2 seeds, Saketh Myneni and Sanam Singh 4-6, 7-5, 12-10 at the KPIT ATP challenger in Pune today.
Saketh/Sanam broke early in the first set only to squander the early lead immediately. However, the Indian pair successfully broke again in the ninth game and served out the set. Just when the second set was moving on serve, Divij/Neuchrist broke in the eleventh game to force a third set.
The match then had to be decided by a super tie-break. In the end, the no.3 seeds held their nerve to nudge ahead by 12-10 to progress into the finals in an hour and 20 minutes.
