ICC Cricket World Cup: Hyderabad ready for matches on successive days

HYDERABAD WILL host ICC World Cup matches on successive days after all.

Recently, the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) raised concerns about hosting back to back ODIs on 9th & 10 October (NZ vs BAN, PAK vs SL). The state association's concern was that the city's police force may not have enough personnel and resources to provide security for sold-out games on two days in a row.

This led to widespread criticism of BCCI's scheduling of the World Cup, including from Pakistan. However, BCCI indicated that no further changes to the CWC schedule would be considered.

It seems that the HCA have now accepted the situation and decided to gather extra resources and security personnel from the state's police force to make sure both the matches are held safely under the best conditions.

Both the matches will happen on schedule; with the city hosting a total of 3 matches including the PAK vs NED game on 6th October.
