AIFF form high level 'accountability committee' for the Secretary General

THE AIFF HAVE introduced a new committee that will serve in an advisory capacity to Secretary General Shaji Prabhakaran.

The move, as reported by the Times of India, comes after concerns grew over travel expenses for top officials over the last nine months since the new AIFF executive committee came to power.

There have also been claims that the AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey may have fallen out with the Secretary General, which led to the creation of this body to curtail the SG's power.

The high level committee is chaired by NA Harris, the President of Karnataka State Football Association. Avijit Paul, the head of AIFF Development Committee & General Secretary of Football Association of Odisha, is the deputy chairman. Other prominent members in the body include Lalnghinglova Hmar (General Secretary of Mizoram Football Association), Mulrajsinh Chudasama (General Secretary of Gujarat State Football Association) and Vijay Bali (Joint Secretary of Punjab Football Association).

Nearly all of the committee members are also part of the AIFF Executive Committee.
