The healthy competition between the Australia top-order batsman Steve Smith and the Ace Indian skipper Virat Kohli has always spiced up the game, culminating into a nerve wrecking series against the two big daddies of world cricket.

India will be walking into this  series with a high after winning the Border- Gavaskar test series by a score line of 2-1. Winning this test series for the fourth time in a row India is expected  to start as favourites in this one day series too. Captained by Hardik Pandya for the first time in a one day International as the regular captain of team India Rohit Sharma will is unavailable for the first one day International of the three match ODI series.

Although team India are the favourites right now but the Australian team can’t be counted out. They are a competitive side with some steady fighting spirit. This series should be looked at as a dress rehearsal for the one day world Cup to be played in October-November, and also a litmus test for the right skills needed by the Indian team in order to look forward to a meaningful series ahead.
