WATCH: Mizoram comfortably beat Rajasthan, go top of the table in Santosh Trophy Group II

MIZORAM HAVE WON their 4th match on the trot in their Santosh Trophy group.

Taking on Rajasthan today, the 2013-14 champions secured the victory by 4-0, going to the top of the points table. They are now within touching distance of qualifying for the final rounds.

Rajasthan, who came off a win over Andhra Pradesh and a draw with Jammu & Kashmir, did well to hold Mizoram to a goalless scoreline in the first half. But in the second half, the tide began to turn.

At the hour mark it was Lalrinzuala who broke the deadlock. Not long afterwards, Labiakdika doubled the lead for Mizoram, effectively securing the win. Towards the end, the Rajasthan defence seemed to have given up on the cause as Joseph Lalvinhima scored the third for Mizoram and Lalbiakdika got his second goal of the game in added time.

The race for the top spot - which provides a guaranteed place in the Santosh Trophy final rounds - is now strictly between Mizoram and Kerala, both of whom have won all their matches so far. They will face each other on Saturday, which will decide who finishes top. The team finishing second will still make it if they are among the top three performing runner-up teams among the six groups.
