Mizoram Premier League: Aizawl FC beat local rivals Chanmari FC

Defending champions Aizawl FC put the gap between them and the chasing pack to five points after defeating Chanmari FC in a 2-1 win in round 8.
The only goal of the game came from David Lalhlansanga who did not make any mistakes from the penalty spot in the 56th minute after he was fouled by Benjamin J. Lalrinliana.
Chances were at a premium throughout the 90 minutes in a close encounter between the two most successful teams in MPL history.
Chanmari's best chances fell to H. Lalmuankima who was only denied by a crucial block from Aizawl FC defender Lalmuanawma.
At the other end, Chanmari goalkeeper Lalrinzuala denied David a scoring opportunity while R. Lalthanmawia could only put his shot wide late on.
