Dream 11 Fantasy Cricket tips for India vs South Africa, 2nd ODI (9th October 2022)

The 2nd ODI of the 3 match Mastercard Trophy series between India and South Africa will be played at the JSCA International cricket Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand on Sunday, 9th October. The match will start at 13:30 PM IST.

In the first match, which was curtailed due to rain, each side got 40 overs to play. The Indian standing captain Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and chose to field. They bowled well and got 4 quick wickets but after that David Miller and Heinrich Klassen had a fertile partnership that led the team to a respectable total of 249 runs in 40 overs.

India had a dreadful start, losing Shubham Gill for just 3 runs and soon captain Shikhar Dhawan was also on his way. The Indians' shot selection was questionable and the South African bowlers dished out some sound bowling. A lack of intent from the Indian batsmen spoiled the chase.

Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson came to the crease with a sense of hope and started to take on the South African bowling but losing Iyer made the situation precarious again. Samson tried to win the game for India on his own but the lower order batsmen could not support him.

Both in terms of experience and a fine skillset, he continues to be a major contributor. Going strong at the age of 36, his bating has not lost that lustre and raw energy.

Shubman Gill, regarded as the future of Indian cricket, can play a glorious front foot punch through the off side and can also play the shot arm jab through short mid-wicket. He also plays lovely looking sweep shots in front of square leg against the spinners. He has played 8 ODIs and scored 401 runs with a batting average of 57.3 and a strike rate of 92.1.

Ruturaj Gaikwad has played just 1 One Day International so far and scored 19 runs, with a strike rate of 45.23. Besides playing beautiful on-drives straight down the ground, Ruturaj and can churn out glowing uppercut over third man and hit stupendous cover drive through covers.
