AIFF asks Ranjit Bajaj to produce evidence of his allegations against Kushal Das in 15 days

THE AIFF HAVE asked Ranjit Bajaj to produce evidence of his allegations against Kushal Das within 15 days, saying the Federation would take action against him otherwise.

The former owner of Punjab FC and current owner of Delhi FC Ranjit Bajaj had previously made allegations of sexual harassment against the current AIFF General Secretary. The Federation denied those charges at that time, and Mr Kushal Das lawyers had served a legal notice to Bajaj. Mr Ranjit Bajaj, for his part, had disagreed with AIFF's findings.

Today, the Federation issued a statement where among other things, the allegations were addressed thus,

"In a meeting held earlier today (May 5, 2022), it has been unanimously decided that the AIFF will write a letter to Mr. Ranjit Bajaj to substantiate his aspersions and allegations against Mr. Kushal Das, General Secretary, AIFF, with proper documentary evidence within fifteen (15) days, failing which the AIFF shall take appropriate action as it deems fit and proper."

Mr Bajaj immediately reacted to the development immediately on social media, alleging that the AIFF was trying to intimidate him into silence regarding the allegations he had made.

The All India Football Federation is facing criticism from multiple directions due to its long-delayed elections, and allegations of financial irregularities. This allegation has put further pressure on the Federation to defend its standing in Indian sports community and the AIFF appears to be en route to take on Mr Bajaj's allegations in the legal arena.
