Legends League Cricket unveils new franchise format for September return

After the success of season 1, Legends League Cricket is announcing a 2nd season in September 2022 which would feature Privately owned Franchisees who would play in a 4 teams format. The League has invited leading International Cricket Franchisees and Corporates for buying 4 teams that would play in September 2022.

The Franchise model would be based on the conventional Franchisee T20 League formats like IPL, PSL, CPL and many more. The Franchise owners will have to pay annual franchise fees for 10 years before they would own the teams in perpetuity. The teams would make revenue through central pool and team sponsorships.

Co-Founder & CEO of Legends League Cricket, Raman Raheja said, "We aim to transform Legends cricket through the Club series format. LLC has already established a great business opportunity around Legends Cricket with the season 1. We now invite partnerships with leading Cricket Franchisees and Corporates having interest in business of Cricket. We already have seen warm responses from leading existing Club Franchisees of multiple Country Board’s owned T20 Leagues. Deep interests from vanguards partnering with the League, demonstrate the confidence in our product and the strength of our League to deliver world class product."

He further said: “It’s a business model that would make great sense for existing Cricket franchise owners to expand their portfolio with. As per an analysis, the Teams would be breaking even in the Season 2 itself and in terms of valuations, they could be valued anywhere between ?60-100 Crores at the end of first Club series season.”

“LLC team is confident that the success of the inaugural tournament has given it the ideal platform to conduct the upcoming edition with much vigour. He believes within the next few years, the LLC is going to be a highly successful T20 League in the World. We have to deliver a good return on investment for our sponsors and with the 1st edition, we have proved that. Now we have to ensure that the success is carried forward in season 2 and beyond for Franchisees and other partners,” he further added.

Ravi Shastri, the Commissioner of the League said: “The new format would make LLC bigger, better and more exciting. With a pool of 100 Legends and 4 teams in season 1, we expect the Club Series format to be a big success given the fan following of the Cricket Legends.”
