Boxing -- Lalrinsanga Tlau wins WBC Youth World Super Featherweight Championship

21 YEAR OLD boxer Lalrinsanga Tlau has clinched a significant victory for himself and Indian boxing by winning the World Boxing Council Youth Super Featherweight title.

In an 8 round bout held at Aizawl, Mizoram, which served as the main event for an LPS Fight Night event, the Mizo pugilist took on Eric Quarm from Ghana for the prestigious world championship.

Lalrinsanga displayed grit and patience throughout the fight, and dominated every round to clinch a unanimous decision victory. All three judges scored the contest 80-72.

The pugliist hails from Khawruhlian and made his professional debut on 22th September 2019. He has stayed busy since then to quickly climb the youth rankings. So far, he has fought 5 times and won every single bout, including two TKO finishes to his name.

The undefeated prodigy will now be in the world map and step up to a higher quality circle of opponents as he seeks to defend the belt, marking an important moment in his career.
