ONE Championship - Roshan Mainam Luwang returns to MMA action at 'Fists of Fury 2'

INDIAN MMA FIGHTER Roshan Mainam Luwang is about to compete at the ONE Championship for the third time against a fellow promotional regular.

Roshan (pro record 5-2) who fights at Flyweight (61 kg/135 lb) has already fought twice under the ONE banner, winning both his bouts by submission. On 11th August 2019 he caught Khon Sinchan in an Americana choke, winning in the very first round. Then on 9th October 2020 he submitted Peng Shuai Liu via a Rear Naked Choke.

For his third ONE bout Roshan will take on Aziz Calim (pro record 5-4) from Indonesia. Aziz is an expert grappler with two of his five professional wins coming via submission, making him a tough stylistic match-up for Roshan. He has also shown considerable stamina, winning every single fight that has gone the distance. This will be a point of concern for Roshan, who experienced tiredness during the second round of his previous fight and vowed to improve his cardio before returning to the cage.

Aziz has fought thrice under the ONE banner, winning once and losing twice. The one thing that stands out in his resume is that the two fights he has lost by KO/TKO all came via leg kicks. It remains to be seen if this is something Roshan, who has been preparing for the bout at Evolve MMA in Singapore, seeks to capitalize on that possible weak point.

The bout will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. It will be a part of the main card of the event 'ONE Championship: Fists of Fury 2." The event will take place behind closed doors on 26th February, but it will not be aired until 5th March. The promotion has taken strict steps to make sure the results of the bouts stay confidential until its television broadcast.
