This club holds the record for winning the highest number of doemstic league titles in that country. They have been the Champions of Iran for no less than 13 times, including four back to back titles from 2016-17 to 2019-20. At the Asian level, they have been the runners-up twice; in 2018 and 2020. They have also been done well at the Asian Cup Winners' Cup, which has now been replaced by the AFC Cup. In 1990-91 they won this prestigious continental title, and were a runner up in 1992-93.
At the time of writing this piece, they are going through a bit of a bad form at the Persian Gulf League. After 10 matches, they have won just 3, lost 1 and drawn 6. With 15 points, they're 9th in the league table.
