Thailand Open 2021 -- Saina Nehwal, HS Prannoy test positive for COVID-19

TWO INDIAN SHUTTLERS, Saina Nehwal and HS Prannoy, tested positive for COVID-19 at the Thailand Open 2021.

A statement from the Badminton Association of India revealed that the two players will no longer be able to participate in the competition due to the coronavirus infection.

Both Nehwal and Prannoy will be placed in isolation at a hospital for a minimum of 10 days.

Out of the 7 participating Indians at the Thailand Open today (5 singles matches & 1 doubles match), Nehwal and Prannoy were star attractions. Earlier today, Saina was supposed to face Kisona S from Malaysia in a women's singles match. But the positive test forced the game to be cancelled.

News of the COVID-19 infection in Indian camp took badminton fans by shock. Wishes for Saina and Prannoy's speedy recovery has begun pouring in on social media.
