The Kings XI Punjab will take on the Delhi Capitals today. Languishing at the bottom of the table, Punjab need to win all their remaining games to have a chance of making it to the playoffs.
With the likes of Rahul, Pooran and Mayank in the line up, Punjab have the firepower. However they would love to see Chris Gayle fire on all cylinders today.
While Gayle might be a fancied pick in fantasy leagues given his ability to win games singlehandedly, there is also some risk attached to it.
It's important to note that Gayle has fallen prey to the wily offies of R Ashwin in the past. The Delhi spinner has dismissed the Jamaican giant on 4 occasions.
Further, Gayle has only got a strike rate below 100 facing Ashwin.
We all know Gayle doesn't fancy off spinners and given Ashwin's ability to bowl in the power play, we could see history repeating itself.
You can still refute the above theory and pick Gayle, but it would be a huge risk.
