IPL 2020 -- Rohit Sharma will open with De Kock for Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma will open the batting for the team alongside South African stalwart, Quinton de Kock.

The duo successfully opened the batting in the 2019 edition and were the second most effective opening pair behind Bairstow and Warner.

As reported by Cricinfo, MI coach Mahela Jayawardena confirmed the decision,

"Lynn is a great addition to the squad, but the combination of Rohit and Quinton did a phenomenal job for us last season. They complement each other well, they're consistent and both of them are experienced. They're good leaders as well, so why would you want to fix something that isn't broken? We will continue to go with that."

It appears as though Aussie star Chris Lynn will have to wait for his turn. He could easily be warming the bench for the initial games.

Mumbai will take on Chennai in the opening game of the IPL tomorrow in Abu Dhabi.
