LAST YEAR, DELHI CAPITALS made it to the playoffs but folded on the third position. They didn't exactly come in as the hot favourites and for the team they had, it was a decent result.
They dealt with some consistency issues throughout the campaign and both their batting and bowling departments produced some duds (the infamous away game against Chennai Super Kings comes to mind) but overall they managed to pick up enough points to comfortably book a playoffs spot.
A lot of the wins they picked up came in relatively close matches and what tipped the scale for the Capitals was brilliant individual performance that topped off the collective effort. They came from the kind of players who make for excellent value pickings for fantasy teams, due to their ability to pull through the night all by themselves.
