Shubham Gill

Shubham Gill

When you're talking about KKR's dominant batting against Mumbai Indians on 28th April 2019, you'd be amiss if you don't mention Shubham Gill.

While Andre Russell was the hammer that finally broke the MI bowlers' spirit, it was the late teenage next-generation star who got the show started.

Coming out to open with Chris Lynn, Shubham helped put on a 96 run opening partnership that got KKR on solid footing. After Lynn got out, Shubham assumed the role of destructor-in-chief.

In 45 balls, he put 76 runs on the board. He hit the MI bowlers around for four sixers and six fours before being caught by Lewis. His innings granted Russell the assurance that he could go all out without worrying about the innings collapsing.

Shubham is still very much a youngster. He's only in the process of getting closer to his physical and technical prime. So chances are he's only getting better.
