FIFA HAVE RELEASED the updated fixture list for the upcoming U-17 Women's World Cup, scheduled to be held in India.
The long awaited tournament, originally shceduled for this year, had to be postponed to next year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Indian team will play their group stage matches in Guwahati's Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium. The matches will be played on 17th, 20th and 23rd February 2021.
Most of Group B matches will be held in Bhubanseswar, while Kolkata and Ahmedabad will play host to most of the games of Group C and Group D respectively.
Placed in Group A as hosts, if the Blue Colts manage to finish in the top two, they will progress to the quarter finals, which wil take place during 27th and 28th February. If India top the group they will play their quarter final match in Bhubaneswar against the runners up of Group B. If they finish second, they will travel to Navi Mumbai to face the winners of Group B.
Semi-finals will take place on 3rd March in Bhubaneswar and Navi Mumbai. On 7th March, the third place playoff and the grand finale will be held at Navi Mumbai.
The DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, which also hosted several FIFA U-17 World Cup 2017 matches, is once again set to become the central stage for a major football competition in India that will be watched by the whole world.
