MOHUN BAGAN WON THE I-League 2019-20 with four matches to spare, beating Aizawl FC 1-0 at a jam-packed Kalyani Municipal Stadium.

The historic match on 10th March became a center for celebration as thousands of Mariners, on a working Tuesday, abandoned offices and schools to make the long journey from Sealdah to Kalyani by train, taking over the entire locomotive, chanting all the way.

At the stadium they lived through every moment, every twist and turn of the match, and when Papa Babacar Diawara delivered the long-awaited break through, broke into a frenzy of joy.

The music, the euphoria, the celebration lasted hours into the night, from Kalyani all the way back home.

Football documentarian Debanjan Banerjee, known among Indian football fans as 'The Footy Traveller', went along for the occasion and in his camera captured the raw emotions of the fans as they witnessed history unfold in front of their eyes.
