IWL 2020 FULL MATCH - Sabitra Bhandari hits five goals as Gokulam Kerala raid Odisha police

GOKULAM KERALA CONTINUED their winning run in Indian Women's League, shooting seven goals past Odisha Police.

Their star striker Sabitra Bhandari scored 5 goals, while their Costa Rican recruit Agbo Esperence, who came on as a substitute, also scored late in the match. Grace Lalhauhnar scored the final goal of the match deep into added time.

GKFC got off to a good early start with Sabitra Bhandari finding the net, but the Odisha Police defence did well to give them tough competition for the rest of the half. But at the start of the second period, two darting runs by Sabitra left the OP defence dumbfounded, and she scored two goals within a minute. This took the game out of Odisha Police's hands and their players soon started showing signs of fatigue and hopelessness.

With three wins from three matches, Gokulam Kerala FC have established themselves as the undisputed favourites in the Group B of IWL 2020. With this win and their 10-1 drubbing of Kenkre combined with a crucial win over Sreebhumi FC, they are top of the table with 9 points and a +17 goal difference. They will next take to the pitch on 4th February against Bangalore United FC.

Meanwhile, Odisha Police who had some good moments earlier on, paid the price for not seizing opportunities when they had them. After losing to Kenkre FC in their first match, they had created some buzz beating Bangalore United in their second game. This loss, however, has set them back in their quest for a top two finish and a place in the semi-finals. They are currently 5th in the Group B table; with 3 points from 3 matches and a -9 goal difference. They'll look to return to winning ways when they take on bottom table club Bidesh XI on 4th February.
